Kelvin Owens

KP Utility Group is a minority owned businesses, founded by Kelvin Owens.

 

Kelvin has three decades of experience in the utility industry. He has managed at two public utilities and several utility contracting companies. He has varied experience in Electric T&D, Gas distribution and Substation maintenance.

Held senior management positions in Michigan at Consumers Energy and in Illinois at ComEd. He has overseen T&D operations, estimating and project management. Kelvin has also led multiple hurricane storm restoration efforts.

Kelvin has overseen projects in California, Illinois and Michigan. Kelvin has also assisted in successful contract negotiations with multiple IBEW unions.

Kelvin excels in client development, forging mutually beneficial business partnerships that encourage customer loyalty and contribute to positive operational performance.

Kelvin has a Bachelor of Business from Northwood University in Midland, MI and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Kelvin has formed a company KP Utility Group LLC to leverage his background and experience to offer premier construction and maintenance services, project management and support services to utility, telecom, governmental and other business entities.
